At Cistate Solutions, we have developed systems for analyzing, formatting, and processing text in various formats and languages, as well as integrating machine translation services like Google Translate into enterprise business systems. By combining our accumulated natural language processing technologies and related expertise, we have successfully developed the 4th Gen AI machine translation solution.
Since around 2021, we have also been developing related technologies to integrate machine translation into business operations, such as automatic website translation and automatic translation of Office documents. These efforts have also produced significant results.
Along the way, we increasingly encountered the limitations of machine translation and experimented with various solutions to overcome these challenges. There are many needs, such as wanting to standardize translations of technical terms, specialized vocabulary, and proper nouns, maintain consistent writing style, and make post-editing more efficient. However, these needs have been difficult to address with existing (up to third-generation) machine translation frameworks. Google Translate also offers a glossary feature, but it is not very user-friendly and often results in lower translation quality, making it less practical in many cases. Neural MT also faced similar challenges.
In recent years, the challenges that Cistate Solutions has tackled have focused on overcoming the barriers that previous generations of machine translation could not surpass—specifically, by automating pre-editing (the process of restructuring source texts to improve translatability).
The world of natural language processing has been completely transformed by the emergence of large language models, such as ChatGPT. While large language models present various challenges when used as the foundation for machine translation, they not only enable control over terminology and writing style, but also open up entirely new approaches to post-editing.
We have revamped our website to reflect the evolution of technology and the ongoing growth of Cistate Solutions. Many of the technologies we have developed or are currently developing have not yet been fully introduced on this website, but we will continue to add more information over time.
