Managing Director and Chief Consultant
In 1993, leveraging a lifelong passion for computers and study abroad experience in North America, began a career as a freelance translator. While specializing in the localization of English-language software products developed in Europe and the U.S. for the Japanese market, we also served as early TRADOS evangelists in Japan. Contributed a regular column introducing IT terminology to the monthly magazine Interpreter & Translator Journal (Ikaros Publishing). We have extensive experience writing feature articles on translation support tools. In addition to working as a freelance translator, I also leverage my IT expertise to take on custom software development projects.
In 1997, joined as one of the founding members of L&H Mendez (now Lionbridge) Japan, and at age 25, became the Production Manager overseeing localization operations. Former Executive Director at Amelia Network Co., Ltd.; President & CEO at Portas Co., Ltd.; Head of Language Asset Management Division at Sun-Flare Co., Ltd.; and President & CEO at Acrolinx K.K. (headquartered in Germany). Leveraging my background as a translator, I have shifted my focus to streamlining and systematizing editing and translation workflows for enterprise clients. Through extensive experience in business and issue analysis across various sites, we realized that improving the source text is essential to enhance the QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) of translation. This led us to focus on solutions that integrate both the creation of source content and its translation as a unified process.
Cistate Solutions, Inc. was founded in 2017. Drawing on our extensive experience in language, information technology (IT), and business analysis, we have built a team of three core specialists: analysts (language professionals), engineers (IT experts), and architects (business analysis professionals). Together, we take an innovative approach that goes beyond translation to address a wide range of language-related business challenges.
