Gathers local government related terms in multiple languages and publishes them as the "Language Asset Database for Local Governments". Anyone can freely browse it.

Accumulate and publish commonly used terms in local governments in a bilingual format.

There are many commonly used terms in local government, but there are also cases where it is difficult to determine how to write them or how to translate them when expanding to multiple languages.

The "Language Asset Database for Local Governments" is a collection of terms used by local governments in a bilingual format, based on data created by Nagoya City in Aichi Prefecture. This allows users to view both the original Japanese text and its translation together. By consolidating terms that were previously collected and translated individually by each local government, the aim is to share and provide more easily understandable information on what terms are being used and how they are translated.

This data is published under a Creative Commons BY license and can be freely viewed by anyone. In addition, our Cistate TextDB Browser is used for the accumulation, search, and editing of translation data.

We received advice from Professor Rei Miyata (University of Tokyo), who was involved in the construction and publication of translation resources in Nagoya City, regarding the processing and publication of data.

The Language Asset Database for Local Governments aims to contribute to the multilingual information dissemination of local governments and will continue to promote the accumulation of terminology and expansion of supported languages.
